Formation and Early Years (2020-2022):
Embrace the Oblivion was formed in 2020, with the original lineup featuring Lee Ashby on vocals, Keith Early on bass, Matt Leblanc on drums, and Rob Smith and Tim Hoover on guitars. The band quickly gained a reputation in their local music scene for their energetic performances and a unique blend of rock and metal influences.
In 2022, Lee Ashby departed from the band on good terms. Charles Clark was brought in as the new vocalist, adding a fresh dynamic to the band’s sound. This lineup, with Charles on vocals, Keith on bass, Matt on drums, and Rob and Tim on guitars, continued to build on the band’s early successes.
At the end of 2023, Embrace the Oblivion underwent significant restructuring. Rob Smith left the band due to his family’s relocation, which made it impossible for him to continue. Shortly after, Tim Hoover departed the band citing creative differences. These departures left Charles, Keith, and Matt to reconfigure the band’s setup.
Charles Clark, already the lead vocalist, picked up a guitar to fill the void left by Rob and Tim. This transition effectively transformed Embrace the Oblivion into a three-piece band, consisting of Charles Clark (vocals and guitar), Keith Early (bass), and Matt Leblanc (drums).
